once more until spring

will you indulge me?
just o.n.e. more beach post until the snow melts in april and the robins and sun tease us into thinking it's warm enough again. exactly one week ago, it was 35 degrees warmer than it was today. 76 glorious degrees.

and as the forecast calls for 45 straight across the next week, i need to soak this last bit of summer dreamin' up, k?
thanks!

it was a windy one for me and the six crazy kids. (by the way, i don't know if it's intensified because of their being homeschooled but my kids kind of live for spending time with friends. their faces just light up when i say yes to their pleas. and i love saying yes!)

in between splinter-removal, dune-climbing, rock-collecting, and picture-taking, i had a brief moment to sit and close my eyes against the wind, breathe in His presence so close and breathe out thanksgiving. "can we just stay here forever on this mountaintop?"

  3. Loving these beach pics! Wishing I was dipping my toes in the icy waters of Lake Michigan. It's been so long! I have an Aunt and Uncle who live in Traverse City, and we used to ride our bikes down to the beach when I would visit from the suburbs of Chicago as a child. So fun!
And I can just see the beautiful imaginations of your littles. Loving the God given beauty of the nature surrounding them.
    Ahhhhhh.
    But, alas, here comes winter!:)
    Happy Friday girl!:)

  6. As many beach posts as wish! My husband and I spent two years near the lake...and just moved away in August...and the beach was a year-round wonder for us. I won't mind if you take (and post) pictures of it even in snow and ice!

  8. I am a Michigan girl transplanted to our nation's capital for the past few years. I recently stumbled upon your blog when messing around Beautifully Rooted. This post just made my heart sing. I just knew from the very first picture that you were giving me a little trip home. Thank you.
