this and that and thanks

Sometimes I open up this computer to type up a blog post, get my pictures all uploaded, and then sit here....blank. "Hmmm, what to say? Do I even have anything remotely interesting to say?" Well, it's one of those days....one of those posts when, I'm sorry, I'm just not feelin' the words thing.  So, I apologize in advance for the randomness.
It has felt great to get my hands busy again after our mini-vaca. Almost my very favorite thing about vacationing is eating out and trying new things but I did miss cooking! This turned out to be my standard roasted chicken. I stab the chicken in six spots and shove garlic cloves down into the cuts (cloves sliced in half lengthwise). Squirt citrus juice all over and shove pieces into the cavity. Sprinkle on e.v.olive oil, smoked paprika, sea salt, cracked pepper. Shove herbs under the skin. (Lots of shoving!) And roast at 400 until done. Then I always make gravy from the drippings and it's garlicky and slightly citrusy.....OH gracious is that good!!
I spent an entire day doing crafty stuff in the studio bedroom with the sun pouring in. Lucy did some stitching of her own. :) A tiny bit closer to making my little etsy dream a reality.

My little grocery store got in a shipment of really healthy looking house plants and I couldn't resist when I saw the big, beautiful fern. I love the way plants change the whole feel of a room. Warm it up. Add a little life. Make it feel springy!
plants add life to a room
Winnie's sleeping at my feet as I type this. Love her. What a gift she is.

Speaking of gifts, I might as well share some from my list. (I guess I'm a bit wordier tonight than I thought!) I want to make something clear first. I saw something on Pinterest that said, "Desire God not His gifts." Yes, I wholeheartedly agree. I don't ever want to give anyone the impression that I have somehow turned God's gifts to me into idols. I worship HIM alone and choose to keep my eyes wide open to just how good He is to me. Counting out the ways is just an expression of my gratitude. Wisdom gleaned from beautiful Ann.

  1. can't wait to see the mercantile.

  2. Quick question: what program do you blog through? I have always used windows and blogged through windows live writer to post to my blog. I love it, but a few months ago, I got an iPhone and a Mac, so I am curious what Mac users use to blog. I really dont enjoy blogging straight into blogger. I am assuming you use Mac since you use instagram pics, but maybe not?? Any suggestions?
