on my fear and His calm

"Look to the LORD and His strength;
seek His face always."
Psalm 105:4
verse

Confession time.
I had been dreading the start of our new homeschool year.
Had been feeling an overall heaviness about it, anxious and pressured. Pressure that I put on my own self. Wanting to have all my ducks in a row. Baseboards cleaned. Papers copied. Laundry put away.
The night before the dreaded morning, I stayed up until the wee hours.....actually right into said dreaded morning. Printing out. Filing away.  Organizing. Praying. Emailing a homeschooling-friend-who-understands for prayer.

And then the morning came. And the sun was blindingly bright through the schoolroom windows. And a calm from Him was settled in my heart. He was right there with us. And we gave thanks for the moment. Together.

Later a friend sent me THIS timely, perfect post  which made me laugh and cry and, realizing the foolishness of my fear, relax.  {I'm not alone in my craziness!}

It may take time but I know we'll get back into our rhythm again. Leaning on Him and His Word......Philippians 4:13Isaiah 40:29, and so many others.

After our formal learning and lunch on the back porch, I decided we should celebrate our first day and His goodness by soaking in some more of it at the beach.  Spending the afternoon in the sand sounded like perfect way to end our day!  {Oh, warm September days....I love you.}

(Umm, if you're prone to motion sickness, you may not want to watch the last 30 seconds when I'm bounding down the sand dune, camera in hand! :)
