marshmallows & memories

They had been begging. Their taste buds yearning for melted marshmallows. And so, after waiting through the long, cold, and wet spring, we finally had our first campfire of the season the other night.

That smell. Smoke and burning wood. I LOVE it.
Daddy bought new extra long sticks for roasting so there'd be no roasted hands.
Just LOOK at that s'more!
What?!
Doesn't it look crazy good with it's jumbo marshmallow and Reese's PB Cup?!

It was
the best s'more
I've
e.v.e.r.
had.
Seriously.

We gobbled up our treats, threw different weeds on the fire to see what happened, and watched the bats come out, fluttering and swooping, chomping up the bugs. Go bats!

Then off to quick baths and cozy beds. Tummies full, love buckets overflowing.
Memories I pray they carry with them to warm on the long, wet and cold days.

And THIS is what the men-folk around here did this weekend.
Father-son memory-making.
