fringed ferns and a great giveaway!

"Art is not to be found by touring to Egypt, China, or Peru;
if you cannot find it at your own door,
you will never find it."
-Ralph Waldo Emerson

Every year I look forward to fern time.  When temps are consistently high enough to line the front porch with these beauties, magically transforming it (in my mind) to a Southern porch on which to rock, sip sweet tea and watch the world go by.

Last year, I was tempted and overtaken by the array of color at the greenhouse and bought mixed baskets instead of ferns.  But, although they were lovely, every time I looked at them I was missing my ferns.  I appreciate how timeless and classic they are, plus they take up a lot of visual space, which I like.  I realize that in my photos these look strangely yellow but in real-life they are most magnificently variegated... yellow & green swirled by His hand.
Won't you come sit a spell with me?
Remember last week I mentioned that in honor of my 200th post I would have a giveaway this week? Well, here it is. A humble thanks to you for caring about my little space and journeying with me.
It's the Farm Chicks cookbook, The Farm Chicks in the Kitchen: Live Well, Laugh Often, Cook Much. You've heard of these colorful, vintage-junking, cooking girls, right? I don't even have a copy of this but have checked it out from library and it was adorable!  (If you win, let me know if you like it, OK? :) One Amazon reviewer wrote this, "This is so much more than a cookbook. There are short inspirational stories and wonderful creative ideas throughout. Each page is a treat enhanced with such mouth-watering photography. Lots of domestic beauty wrapped up between two covers - a must-have for any country girl!"
There a few preview recipes and pics posted online here.

So, since I don't have comments enabled on my blog, it will take a titch more effort to enter for the giveaway, OK? You'll have to email me and just write "giveaway" in the subject line.  Entering will extend through 8pm Sunday night, May 15. If you're the happy winner, I'll have Amazon ship you a copy ASAP.

Hee, hee...this is fun.  I heart gift-giving!
Sunshine and sweet tea blessings to you,
