Hands were alternately busy or still, gripping inner tube handles or library book or each other's.
Littlest one braved the highest heights.
"Yes" was the Mommy-reluctant answer given to, "Will you go down the fastest tunnel slide with me?"
And youth was rediscovered.
Sugar was consumed.
Caution was thrown to the wind.
(and, gasp, we did not catch colds)
Reading time in the hot tub was gifted, as much as I wanted.
(Not long for the lure of child's play.)
And over and over, my breath was filled with thanks.
