living to enjoy the light of life

"Can we make a fire when we get home from church, Daddy?" (Sure!)

While they're gathered around the building flames outside, I'm padding around here silent in my tights lighting wicks, tiny fires flickering bright, creating an atmosphere of warmth and comfort.

We all crave light.

We want to turn our faces towards the fire bright, towards the sun, close our eyes, feel the warmth and be enlightnened.
Of course, I'm talking about our heart's desire for Him...His holiness, absolute perfection, His revelation, revealed truth, and His salvation.

Turn your face towards the SON.

"God is light
and in Him is no darkness at all."
1 John 1:5

"For with You is the fountain of life;
in Your light do we see light."
Psalm 36:9

"The sun shall be no more
your light by day,
nor for brightness shall the moon
give you light;
but the LORD will be your everlasting light,
and your God will be your glory."
Isaiah 60:19

"God has delivered me from going down to the pit,
and I shall live to enjoy the light of life."
Job 33:28

"I am under vows to You, O God;
I will present my thank offerings to You.
For You have delivered me from death and my feet from stumbling,
that I may walk before God in the light of life."
Psalm 56:12-13

And I'm coming into that Light with thanksgiving, a sacrifice of praise...

#631. kissing the tops of children's heads and smelling bonfire smoke
#632. "You're a good singer, Mommy."
#633. a two-minute drive to church, TWO minutes driveway to driveway!
#635. people-loving little girl
#636. long-held friendships
#637. french-pressed morning coffee with cinnamon and dollop of whipped cream
#638. dreaming about possibilities
#639. we can take it all to Him in prayer ANY time!
#640. a sermon on giving thanks and smiling thinking of she who mentors in gratitude
#641. anticipation of the gift of the week He will give

Happy Thanksgiving to you and yours.
I'm so very thankful for the gift of you, my fellow traveler on this journey of faith.

May the LORD make His face to shine upon you
and be gracious to you,
(He does and He will!)
