"So if the Son sets you free,
you will be free indeed."
We celebrated our country's independence by waving flags,
plugging ears, smelling smoke and seeing how it was,
straining muscles to ring liberty's bell,
drenching in gushes of heat relief,
remembering wars fought and saluting,
scratching out our names in ink just like the declaration writers,
playing like colonial children did,
and cheering on the parade.
I celebrate my independence from sin's bondage and death and my dependence on Christ who claimed me with His blood by giving thanks!
Thanks for His endless gifts.....
