oliver and toad are friends

This sweet, second-born son of mine just seems to have a way with amphibians.  They flock to him like he's the pied piper.  Maybe it's that he's constantly on the lookout for them and has quick reflexes to snatch them up!

He simply adores toads and frogs (plus snakes, turtles, fish, birds, and all other animals for that matter).  He'll play with them for a while and is always a bit sad when it comes time to set them free back where he found them.  He became particularly attached to this little toad below and there were tears when he had to say good-bye.

Laughing, we had so much fun taking these pictures of "Toady".  I'm not so sure Toady enjoyed it as much as we did.

And I thought I'd add some books we've enjoyed about these glassy-eyed, squishy creatures we love.....
